Palworld Lifmunk Effigy Guide: Every Effigy Type & Location

Palworld's Lifmunk Effigy — and its dozen effigy cousins — are basically the game's version of a scavenger hunt where the prize is a permanently better character sheet — and after tracking down enough of these little statues myself, I can confirm the hunt is worth it, even if my pathing around Windswept Hills looked less like "efficient farming route" and more like a sphere-throwing golden retriever.

What Effigies Actually Do

Every Effigy is a Key Item you carry until you interact with a Statue of Power — either the one you build at your base or the ones already standing in Abandoned Churches scattered around the map. Offer a stack of matching Effigies, confirm, and the stat bump applies immediately and permanently to your character. No respec, no cooldown, no fine print.

The catch is that each rank costs more Effigies than the last, so the first couple of levels feel almost free and the later ones start to feel like a part-time job. That's normal — it's not a bug in the drop rate, it's just how the curve is built.

All 13 Effigy Types (and What They Actually Boost)

Twelve of these are things you physically pick up in the world; the thirteenth — Mimog — is a reward, not a pickup, so it doesn't have a location at all.

Movement and traversal: Rooby Effigy raises Jump Power, Herbil Effigy improves Flight Capacity (faster glide, less stamina burned), and Tanzee Effigy reduces the stamina cost of climbing.

Survival and upkeep: Munchill Effigy slows food spoilage, Depresso Effigy raises Status Resistance, and Cattiva Effigy improves mount Endurance so your ride doesn't gas out halfway up a hill.

Capture and combat utility: Lifmunk Effigy raises Capture Power (the one you'll want first — more on that below), Lunaris Effigy improves Sphere Tracking, and Yakumo Effigy improves the odds that wild Pals roll better Passive Skills.

Everyday quality of life: Lamball Effigy slows hunger drain, and Pengullet Effigy improves swim speed and swimming stamina.

Late-game payoff: Relaxaurus Effigy boosts EXP gain — genuinely useful even after you think you're done leveling.

Mimog Effigy (reward only): boosts on-foot Movement Speed. You don't find this one lying around; capturing five of the same Pal species awards one automatically, for every Pal in the Paldeck. No map location exists for it because there isn't one.

If you only chase one type early, make it Lifmunk Effigy. It's both the most common Effigy in the game and the one with the most immediate payoff — every capture gets easier while you're still working out which Pals are worth keeping.

Effigy Map: Where to Find Them

The honest answer is "scattered everywhere," which is not a satisfying sentence to read in a guide, so here's the more useful version: Effigies cluster near landmarks — small ruins, dungeon entrances, the base of Towers — rather than sitting in open fields. If you're standing in featureless grass, you're probably not near one.

Rather than trying to describe 407 individual locations in paragraph form (nobody wants that, including me), every documented Effigy in this database is plotted on the interactive map — toggle the Effigies layer on and it'll show you the exact type and position of each one, filterable the same way you'd search for a Pal.

The World Tree Effigies

This is the part most existing effigy guides haven't caught up to: the World Tree region — Palworld's newer, separate area with its own map entirely — has 47 of its own documented Effigies, and they don't show up on older "complete" effigy maps because that region didn't exist when those guides were written.

One detail worth calling out on its own: Cattiva Effigy doesn't appear anywhere in the main overworld region in this database at all — every documented copy is in the World Tree. If you're hunting Cattiva Effigies specifically, stop searching the main map; you're in the wrong region entirely.

The World Tree map has its own Effigies toggle too, since it's tracked as a fully separate region with its own coordinate space — same interface, different island.
