Base Building
Best Early-Game Pals for Base Building
An unstaffed work station is a station doing absolutely nothing for you, which is a bold strategy for a survival game — I've made that mistake more than once, usually right before wondering why my base was producing ingots at the pace of a geological process.
Kindling
Foxparks is available almost immediately and is enough to keep a Primitive Furnace running. Rooby shares the same Kindling level, so it isn't a work-speed upgrade — pick it up for its higher combat stats instead, not for faster smelting. Two Pals, same furnace speed, very different reasons to own one.
Generating Electricity
Sparkit is the earliest reliable Generating Electricity Pal and is enough to run a handful of electric stations. Univolt is the real upgrade once your power draw grows past what Sparkit can sustain — a full Generating Electricity level higher, which is the closest this game gets to a promotion.
Transporting
Don't neglect Transporting. A Pal like Verdash or Anubis moving materials between stations removes a surprising amount of manual inventory shuffling — genuinely one of the least glamorous, most load-bearing jobs at any base.
As a rule of thumb: capture for coverage first, then recapture for level once you know which stations are your actual bottleneck. And once you've got the roster sorted, Best Base Locations in Palworld covers the other half of the equation — where to actually put all these Pals to work.
